Amazon EventBridge
Amazon EventBridge is a serverless event bus that connects application components together, simplifying communication and reducing coupling.
Amazon EventBridge acts as a central event hub, routing data from your own applications, SaaS providers (like Shopify or PagerDuty), and AWS services (like Lambda or S3) to targets across your architecture. It uses a schema registry to manage event structures, ensuring data consistency. This allows developers to build loosely coupled, event-driven architectures, accelerating development and improving scalability. For example, a new user signup event from your authentication service can trigger a Lambda function to create a welcome email and simultaneously update a customer profile in DynamoDB, all orchestrated through EventBridge.
