Claude Code is a research preview tool that brings Claude 3.7 Sonnet directly into the developer's terminal. It functions as a high-agency agent capable of editing files, running tests, managing git commits, and fixing bugs across large repositories. By integrating tool-use capabilities with a deep understanding of context, it automates repetitive workflows (like refactoring legacy modules or updating dependencies) while maintaining a focus on speed and accuracy. It is currently available via npm and requires an active Anthropic API key for operation.
