Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of IT resources—compute, storage, and applications—over the internet with pay-as-you-go pricing.

It’s a model for accessing a shared pool of configurable computing resources: servers, storage, and services. Key providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) manage the physical infrastructure in remote data centers. Services break down into three models: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). This approach eliminates the capital expense of buying and maintaining physical hardware, allowing organizations to scale capacity elastically and deploy resources in minutes, not months, which drives significant cost efficiency and agility.
