DAGs

DAGs (Directed Acyclic Graphs) model sequences of operations or data dependencies efficiently.

DAGs (Directed Acyclic Graphs) are mathematical structures representing a finite set of vertices and directed edges, where no cycles exist. They're crucial in various tech domains: Airflow and Prefect use DAGs to orchestrate complex data pipelines, defining task dependencies and execution order. Compilers leverage DAGs for optimizing intermediate code, identifying common subexpressions and reordering operations. Blockchain technologies, like IOTA and Fantom, also employ DAGs to achieve scalability and faster transaction processing compared to traditional linear blockchains. This structure ensures clear, non-repeating paths for data flow or process execution, making them ideal for scheduling, version control (e.g., Git's commit history), and dependency resolution.
