The ESP32-S3-BOX-3 is an open-source AIoT development kit: it delivers powerful Edge AI and HMI application prototyping via the ESP32-S3 SoC.

This is the ESP32-S3-BOX-3, your next-generation AIoT development platform from Espressif Systems. It runs on the high-performance ESP32-S3 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5 (LE) SoC, featuring 16MB Flash and 16MB Octal PSRAM for robust operation. The kit provides an out-of-the-box HMI solution, including a 2.4-inch (320x240) SPI touchscreen, two digital microphones, and a speaker. Utilize the integrated ESP-SR framework for offline voice control, supporting far-field interaction and over 200 customizable commands. Hardware expansion is seamless: a high-density PCIe connector allows for immediate integration of accessories like the SENSOR or DOCK modules. Deploy quickly for complex projects in Smart Home, Industrial IoT, and Edge AI applications.

### [Integrating AI and Piezoelectric Energy: A Smart Agent for Environmental Interaction and Bio-Orchestration](https://portland.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_t7je2TdxdSs)

Our project centers on integrating a AI with advanced vision and voice capabilities, Gemini 1.5 Pro, as well as memory and GraphRAG via Neo4j Aura, designed to interact with the environment in a sophisticated manner. This portable agent not only processes and responds to voice commands but also captures and analyzes images, providing real-time feedback on the surroundings. We take this a step further by integrating a piezoelectric energy harvesting system into the AI agent. This innovative approach allows the device to generate electrical energy from kinetic and mechanical forces as you move, potentially powering itself while collecting environmental data. The harvested energy can be used to enhance the functionality of the AI agent, including sustaining its operation in low-power environments. Moreover, this energy harvesting system opens up possibilities for bio-orchestration, potentially interacting with the body’s communication protocols, such as the vagus nerve, and influencing cellular energy processes like mitochondrial activity or ATP production. In essence, this project demonstrates a leap forward in sustainable, intelligent technology that not only interacts with its environment but also harnesses it to power its operations, offering profound implications for personal health and environmental monitoring. We are utilizing the Espressif ESP32-S3-BOX-3 for AI processing and voice recognition, paired with the Adafruit OV5640 Camera Module for image capture. For energy harvesting, we’re incorporating piezoelectric sensors, such as the Adafruit Piezoelectric Ribbon Sensor, all managed by Raspberry Pi 4 units to handle data processing and communication tasks. The code is a combination of Python and Rust.
