HElib
HElib is the premier C++ library for programmable homomorphic encryption, implementing the BGV and CKKS schemes with advanced ciphertext bootstrapping.
Developed by IBM Research, HElib provides a high-performance framework for computing on encrypted data without decryption. It leverages the BGV scheme for integer arithmetic and the CKKS scheme for fixed-point approximations, utilizing the NTL mathematical library for low-level polynomial operations. The library excels at 'ciphertext packing' (processing multiple data points in a single vector) and features sophisticated optimization techniques like the Matzov-Smart bootstrapping. Developers use HElib to build privacy-preserving applications where sensitive workloads (such as genomic analysis or financial risk modeling) remain encrypted during every stage of the computation.
