LXC
LXC is a low-level, high-performance container runtime that delivers lightweight system-level virtualization directly through the Linux kernel.
LXC bypasses the overhead of traditional hypervisors by leveraging native Linux kernel features (namespaces, cgroups, and seccomp policies) to spin up isolated environments. It functions as a middle ground between a simple chroot and a heavy virtual machine, allowing you to run full, multi-process Linux distributions with near-bare-metal performance. By sharing the host kernel, LXC keeps resource consumption minimal while providing robust tools and a stable C API to manage your system containers.
