macOS Keychain securely stores and manages passwords, certificates, and other sensitive information for Mac users.

macOS Keychain is Apple's integrated password management system, providing a secure repository for user credentials and sensitive data. It stores a variety of items: website passwords, network passwords (Wi-Fi), private keys, and digital certificates. Keychain Access (an application found in /Applications/Utilities) allows users to view, manage, and audit these stored items. When you log into a website or connect to a secure network, Keychain can automatically fill in your credentials, streamlining workflows and enhancing security by eliminating the need to remember complex passwords. Data within Keychain is encrypted and protected by the user's login password, ensuring confidentiality across applications and services.
