OpenClaw is the viral, open-source, autonomous AI agent: a self-hosted 'digital employee' that executes real-world tasks across your local machine and messaging platforms 24/7.

This is the next-generation autonomous AI agent, built by Peter Steinberger (founder of PSPDFKit). OpenClaw functions as a proactive, self-hosted assistant, running as a long-running Node.js service on your own hardware (e.g., a Mac Mini or VPS) for about $3–$5 per month. It integrates directly with chat apps (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord) to receive instructions and report completions. The agent utilizes over 100 AgentSkills to execute complex, real-world workflows: clearing your inbox, writing code, managing documents, and checking you in for flights. The open-source project’s velocity is undeniable, having surpassed 100,000 GitHub stars quickly and reportedly driving a surge in Mac Mini sales.

## Recent Public Talks and Demos

### [Building a UI that builds itself](https://copenhagen.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_CD2l5EihkZY)

it's a UI layer for agent harnesses where agents (Claude/Codex/Hermes/OpenClaw) can work and build personal software by extending their own UI. I'll cover why we decided work on this idea, some existing approaches, how we organized the CLI/Skill and what design guidelines we have written.

### [From VPS to Discord: Self-Hosting an Agentic AI That Never Forgets](https://tiruchirappalli.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_3BC_PPnf7m4)

I self-hosted OpenClaw — an open-source, persistent AI agent gateway — on a VPS and connected it to Discord, turning it into an always-on assistant that holds context across sessions instead of resetting every conversation. In the demo, I'll show the live system end to end: the VPS deployment and gateway configuration (systemd service, token-based auth, loopback binding secured via SSH tunnel), the onboarding flow that wires up the model provider and Discord channel, and a real conversation with the bot on Discord where it responds, remembers earlier context, and can trigger commands — followed by a quick look at the gateway logs and config files to show what's actually happening under the hood.

### [Building your personal agent.](https://islamabad-rawalpindi.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_M-88KcLuirQ)

I have a personal agent setup which runs on a cloud VM and helps me through various tasks. It has access to my calendar, meeting recordings, interviews, feedback, daily notes, notes management, learning new skills, managing my talks, my podcast, my finance, etc. In this session I covered a very specific use case that I'm using around getting feedback for my one-on-one meetings. I showed them how I have set up my pipeline that records and transcribes my meetings and stores them in specific notes in my Obsidian, we reviewed the prompts and the rubrics that are used to analyze those transcripts and generate feedback. At the start of the week, that feedback is aggregated, and one insight is generated to show on my daily note. This allows me to work on that feedback throughout the week and then see if I've done better the following week when the results come in again. There is no project URL for this since this is my personal setup on my local machine.

Does OpenClaw elevate my smart home experience on top of the already powerful Home Assistant? By leveraging the OpenClaw add-on in Home Assistant and connect it to its MCP Server, I managed to control part of my smart home via Telegram. I explored the capabilities of the latest local LLMs (or "SLMs"?), such as Gemma 4 E4B, Qwen 3.5 9B, GPT-OSS-20B etc., and experienced some hit-and-misses along the way. I will share what worked well, what worked, and what didn't.

### [Anita: A Proactive Synthetic Organism](https://cologne.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_10X8PdiOc28)

Anita is a proof-of-concept architecture for building proactive AI agents that perceive and act on their own, instead of waiting for a prompt. Inspired by the Synths from the TV series "Humans" and by the OpenClaw project, the architecture is modeled after biological organisms: receptors perceive continuous streams of stimuli and react to them. The agent has "organs", "senses", a central "nervous system", and declarative "reactions". The key goal is extensibility, not just by the developer, but by Anita herself. In the demo, I'll fire stimuli into the running system and show how perceptions flow through reactions and produce actions.

### [Clawloop - the unified learning api](https://zurich.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_sEFw1hfu1rc)

Clawloop is the learning from experience layer for AI agents. It turns traces, failures, and user feedback from production traffic and interactions with training environments into updates to an agent’s harness and weights. The harness includes prompt, memory, and tools, so Clawloop can improve not just the model but also how the agent is instructed and equipped. It plugs into stacks like LiteLLM, OpenClaw, and n8n and connects to training backends like SkyRL and Tinker for weight adaptation.

### [From 1 Agent to 11: Patterns for Multi-Agent Systems That Actually Work](https://columbus.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_nZaEJ2xzX0c)

I built an AI operating system (AIOS) that runs my technology community organization, Cloud Nirvana, using 11 specialized AI agents coordinated from a Mac Mini. Each agent owns a domain: email triage, speaker pipeline QA, partnership tracking, CRM operations, content, community engagement, financial operations, and strategic planning. They share an encrypted CRM, communicate through file-based memory, and operate under a graduated trust model where each agent earns autonomy based on demonstrated reliability. Along the way, everything broke at least once. I documented those failures as reusable engineering patterns (inspired by the Gang of Four) and open-sourced them. The demo walks through the live system, shows agents handling real work in real time, and demonstrates how any builder can discover and apply these patterns against their own codebase.

### [Adventures in Dark Software Factories and Building Sundai Claw](https://boston.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_rYByyNllwL4)

I will share my adventures trying to build a software factory, and a solution that I landed on that I'm pretty happy with. It's a rapidly evolving space and it seems like every week there's a new project attempting to streamline the process of building software using autonomous AI coding agents. If you've read Dan Shapiro's "The Five Levels" post (https://www.danshapiro.com/blog/2026/01/the-five-levels-from-spicy-autocomplete-to-the-software-factory/), you know about the Fanuc Dark Factory, the robot factory staffed by robots. It's dark because it's a place humans are neither needed nor welcome. As an example of how such a factory can be built, I'll share a concrete use case in building Sundai Claw. Sundai Claw is an OpenClaw agent that you can message via Telegram. You describe your software project in natural language and when you submit a request, the claw agent dutifully begins to create a Sundai.club project card, a Github repo, a spec doc and then builds and deploys the software. This happens completely autonomously, but we're exploring where appropriate human-in-the-loop steps would be helpful to steer the claw agent and refine the specifications before and during building.

### [Building Bob's Cabins Across Three Agent Tools Without Losing My Mind](https://nashville.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_iAJZ16pa6m0)

Revari: A Memory Dataplane for Heterogenous Agent Environments Every multi-agent workflow hits the same wall: switch tools and start over. Context vanishes between Claude, Codex, Cursor, or whatever your stack is. You end up re-explaining architecture decisions, copy-pasting summaries, manually bridging what one agent learned to the next. It's a tax on every tool switch, and it compounds. Revari eliminates that tax. It's a sovereign memory dataplane that sits below your agents, not inside any one of them. Persistent, hybrid retrieval (BM25 + vector + graph fused via RRF) running entirely on local hardware. Any agent reads and writes to the same shared memory. Swap agents mid-workflow and nothing is lost. Decisions, context, and intent carry forward automatically. That's the developer problem. Here's where the architecture goes further. Revari is built for DDIL (denied, degraded, intermittent, limited) environments and connectivity. Agents on edge devices persist memories locally via and reconcile when connectivity returns, over any network. The same memory layer that keeps your coding agents in sync also keeps autonomous systems coherent across factory floors, field hospitals, and forward-deployed environments. The open protocol underneath is post-quantum encrypted by default, with a novel gradient memory system that adapts to available bandwidth. Full context over Ethernet, compressed facts over WiFi, tags over LoRa. Starts with your dev workflow. Scales to infrastructure for agents that operate in the real world. Seeking development partners and seed funding.

### [Sleazy Ron 2: Electric Boogaloo](https://montreal.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_DzkCTEyoD7Y)

Dual Pi Agent Runtime Scheduler Last year, I demoed a multi-agent system designed to generate screenplays for a 3D embodied character named Sleazy Ron, with the goal of live streaming on Twitch. While the approach worked, it felt primitive, output was often mechanical, as the LLM driving the screenplay tended to fall into repetitive patterns. The system was also limited to text generation, with little capacity for broader agent behavior. Since then, I’ve completely reworked the runtime architecture into a dual Pi agent system. The new design separates responsibilities between two agents: Worker Agent (Core Pi) — operates within its own workspace and filesystem, handling reasoning, planning, and long-running tasks. It represents the agent’s “inner thoughts,” capable of performing complex actions like web searches, note-taking, and task management. Performer Agent — runs in a continuous loop, translating the worker’s outputs into real-time expression. It generates dialogue, schedules animations, and controls camera movements dynamically via an event bridge. This separation allows the system to think and act independently: the worker focuses on cognition and problem-solving, while the performer handles embodiment and presentation. To support this, I built a UI that lets me steer the stream by queuing tasks for the worker. It also provides live visibility into both agents, so I can observe their internal state and behavior in real time. The agents both run with Pi Harnesses, powered by Codex models.

### [One to Many - from OpenClaw to organisations of ambient agents](https://berlin.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_JNrCPzSFCMc)

Over the last 2 weeks, I went from n8n, to openclaw, to now paperclipAI, where I run a team of 5 ambient agents working on shared goals, with a common task manager. All of this on the side of our main project, building a multi-agent system for local businesses. I'll share a walkthrough of what the organisation of agents have built over the last week, and talk about where they have failed, and what is still needed in harness development for multi-agent systems.

### [Building Autonomous Websites](https://berlin.aitinkerers.org/talks/rsvp_kbMMJBcTVKU)

An AI agent that designs, builds, and ranks entire websites autonomously. It creates pages from scratch, writes SEO-optimized content daily, tracks rankings across multiple countries, monitors competitors, and optimizes for both Google and AI search engines (GEO) — all running 24/7 from a single machine. No agency. No team of freelancers. One agent does the work of a developer, content writer, and SEO specialist combined. Depending on the time allocated, I will show how this bot can build an entire website from scratch, OR I will only show how it edits an existing website in real-time.
