SO101
SO101 is an open-source, 3D-printable 6-DOF robotic arm built for affordable, hands-on AI and imitation learning research.
The SO101 (also known as the SO-ARM101) lowers the barrier to entry for embodied AI by providing a highly accessible, community-driven hardware platform. Built with 3D-printed components and six high-torque Feetech STS3215 magnetic encoder servos, this 6-axis robotic arm costs roughly $150 to assemble from scratch. It integrates natively with the Hugging Face LeRobot ecosystem, allowing developers, researchers, and students to calibrate the hardware, record demonstration data, and train imitation learning models (such as Action Chunking Transformers) in a single afternoon.
